This weekend the much anticipated Vertical Blue 2010 is starting  . A MASSIVE multi day invitational only event (17 - 27 april) where some of the worlds best freedivers are competing.
The competition is held in Deans Blue hole in the bahamas , the same place where I was last year september for my Depth Training (CNF) with William Trubridge (see here) , who is organizing this impressive competition.

For me the sad thing is that my CNF performance last year during my training with Will earned me an invitation to VB 2010, but to my immense sadness I had to forfeit my position due to work obligations. Hopefully next year there will be another chance, but looking at current athletes I have to definitely boost my performances.

If you want to follow the action HERE is some info with links to daily twitter/facebook/video updates. I will be massive like last years event with national and world records almost every day.

Or check this forum for the most important updates.

Well day one is done and not very spectacular, but that is ok for a first day of a 10 day competition series. Athletes are conservative and carefull not to get problems that will affect them for the rest of the comp. But I am sure the real firework will not be far away.

Here the days happenings : http://www.verticalblue.net/news/index.php?entryid=134

Top times of day 3.
Here we go, a head to head for the most prestigious world record on Constant Nofins between the 2 Williams.
My bets are on Trubridge

And William is steady as a rock. He pulls of a neat 116 CWT dive , while lots of others struggle. And that while he is running this competition as well. Cold as ice
